Since its inception in July 2005, Hybrid Audio Technologies has quickly become known as the most formidable high-end car audio speaker system manufacturer in the world.  In the past four years, no other brand of speaker has achieved international championships in organized sound quality competition the way cars equipped with Hybrid Audio Technologies products have.  Today the Company announces a new addition to the product line, the Legatia L1 Pro SE Special Edition ring radiator tweeter.

The Legatia Pro L1 SE is a limited-edition, super high-end mobile audio tweeter based upon the architecture of the original and highly-acclaimed Hybrid Audio Technologies Legatia L1 Pro transducer.  The Pro L1 SE is an advancement of the original Legatia L1 Pro design, boasting a ring radiator diaphragm that has superior damping and extended frequency response, representing a new benchmark for radiator diaphragm tweeters.

According to Scott E. Buwalda, CEO of Hybrid Audio Technologies and lead speaker engineer “the Legatia L1 Pro SE has several unique features that ensure performance is superior to all other car audio tweeter designs, and specifically, designs in this category.  The ring radiator geometry is notorious for delivering a flat, extended response, but many radiator designs suffer from poor off-axis response.  The main L1 Pro SE criteria was to geometrically model a ring radiator that would work exceptionally well in a car environment, with an end-user’s choice of either on- or off-axis operation with good polar response, all the while preventing phase cancellation for uniform frequency response and uniform polar radiation.  The end result is the yardstick by which other car audio tweeters, and ring radiator tweeters will be measured.”

The Pro L1 SE boasts a fully machined aluminum body to abate resonance, and comes equipped with a tuned rear chamber for an ultra-low resonance frequency of 580 Hz.  The product is available in a choice of natural aluminum color, or anodized black.  The calling card of the design is a copper wave guide and diaphragm ring for not only fantastic performance but class leading aesthetics.  Making the L1 Pro SE even more special is the fact that it is a first-generation limited edition offering from the Company.  Hybrid Audio Technologies guarantees a maximum number of one hundred fifty (150) Legatia L1 Pro Special Edition transducer sets will be created within this edition.  Included with the Legatia L1 Pro SE set is a Statement of Authenticity, and an original signature guarantee from the lead speaker engineer, including a statement of personal inspection of the transducers.  The L1 Pro SE pair is $549.99 at suggested retail price.

The Legatia L1 Pro SE’s began shipping on November 24, 2009.  Even despite the poor economic conditions the 12-volt industry faces today, more than one half of the available sets have already been sold through within the first week of launch.
