There's only one thing that moves faster than you when you're staying busy: time. And boy does it fly.
A LETTER FROM BILL SUMMERS

On the 20th Anniversary of Precision Interface Electronics

This quarter marks 20 years since Precision Interface Electronics first opened its doors, selling DIN-to-RCA adapters, high-end patch cords and line out converters to car stereo dealers across America. We were a pretty small outfit back then, housed in a small commercial unit we had rented.
I remember our very first sale was to Michael Mahfood at First Mark Trading in Texas. Michael and I are still friends today though he has left the industry. We expanded to a handful of customers, and we worked hard to keep each one of them. As we've grown, I’m happy to say that many of them are still with us today, and I'm even happier to count you among them.
My parents always taught me the importance of family, and that’s been one of the lessons that have defined my career. It’s a career that has taken me from unemployed and unemployable to finally, PIE. And at every step, I have been grateful to make friends and add them to my family.
Those of you who know me, know that I have been clean and sober since March 19, 1977 and since that time, I have tried simply to do whatever God has put in front of me and to make friends of all those folks God has brought into my life. What an adventure! Marsha and I have been raising our now thirteen-year-old grand daughter for six years now. God put her in our life when I was sixty. She keeps us young and puts the twinkle in our eyes. It was also her idea to include all of you in our Girl Scout Cookie effort for our troops overseas through our partnership with Operation Gratitude. How blessed we are!
One great thing about family is that we support each other. Thanks to you, we’ve been able to create parts and accessories that make you the leaders in OEM Integration. Our efforts also led us to open our own factory overseas so that we can personally assure that every wire, every connector, and every part we send to you is built to the same standards by which you run your business. And in return, you’ve graced us with a long business relationship, and a more valuable friendship. Again, “How blessed we are!”
The times we face now are tough, but we’re facing it together. Hang in there. Be smart with your business, look for and act on opportunities to show customers just how great and knowledgeable you are, and most important, build your customer loyalty with friendship. Your life will be blessed by their friendship as mine has been with the friendship of so many of you in our industry.
I can’t put into words how much gratitude I have for this industry and for all of you. We’ve all worked to build something that not only puts us at the forefront of innovation in the automotive world, but in a very real sense, puts food on our tables every day and allows us to give our kids — and our employees and their kids — the best prospects for success.
So thank you, thank you, Thank You! Thanks for allowing us to be your friends and partners for more than 20 years. Thank you for putting your trust in us to fulfill your needs and the needs of your customers. And thank you for representing us as you do business every day. We will continue to be here for you, doing our best to bring you only the best products and services, so that your customers — your friends — will remain part of your family for years to come.
Sincerely,
Bill
