Boston Acoustics, a longtime leader in premium sound components for aftermarket and OEM mobile audio systems, is pleased to introduce the new high-performance SR Series drop-in mobile audio speakers. The six new models, comprising of three coaxial and three component systems, complete the company’s line of drop-in speakers.

SR Series models feature a Type-S1 Kortec® tweeter for superb power handling and reliability. Kortec® is a silky fabric saturated on the underside with a proprietary stiffening agent. The stiff inner surface of the dome allows the tweeter to track the signal with ease and produces excellent transient attack. Simultaneously, the soft, self-dampening top layer eliminates unwanted resonances, allowing the SR tweeter to sound very much “alive.” The Type-S1 neodymium tweeter magnets provide an extraordinary power-to-size performance ratio. The coaxial models feature the CATB™ (Contoured Asymmetrical Tweeter Baffle), which provides dual benefits: First, its asymmetrical shape makes the tweeter baffle acoustically invisible so that it doesn’t alter the response of the woofer, delivering smoother extension. Second, the contour shape benefits the tweeter by allowing it to deliver strong response both on- and
off-axis.

All SR Series woofers feature a copolymer cone and durable butyl rubber surround to provide the strongest defense against the harshest automotive environments. Always striving to produce and deliver the greatest sound, Boston Acoustics integrates each SR model with a specifically tuned crossover to deliver the best transition between woofer and tweeter. The SR60 and SR50 feature a unique crossover design that can separate and dock together, providing flexibility for tight installations.

“Through advanced engineering, installation details, and countless hours of voicing, the SR speakers continue Boston’s tradition of high performance and superb sound quality that dealers and customers have come to expect,” said Dave Jaques, Boston Aftermarket Mobile Audio Product Marketing Manager. “Additionally, based on critical feedback from our dealers, we have expanded our offering in this price category, and will, for the first time, include the popular 5-inch sized models. Now it's even easier to find an SR speaker that will drop into any factory location.”

The SR speakers are designed as drop-in factory replacements but can also serve as high- performance aftermarket upgrades to existing systems, offering great sound quality and high efficiency. Thanks to their convenient OEM-sized chassis, the SR Series is perfectly suited to fit a wide array of vehicles, making installation easy & seamless. In addition, the compact size of the SR Series models reduces installation clearances and minimizes problems with window regulators and trunk torque rods.

Why should I upgrade to Internet Explorer 7? Microsoft has redesigned Internet Explorer from the ground up, with better security, new capabilities, and a whole new interface. Many changes resulted from the feedback of millions of users who tested prerelease versions of the new browser. The most compelling reason to upgrade is the improved security. The Internet of today is not the Internet of five years ago. There are dangers that simply didn't exist back in 2001, when Internet Explorer 6 was released to the world. Internet Explorer 7 makes surfing the web fundamentally safer by offering greater protection against viruses, spyware, and other online risks.
